The Florida Housing Coalition is now accepting nominations for the 2025 SHIP Awards, to be presented at the Annual Statewide Affordable Housing Conference, August 25–27 in Orlando. This is a great opportunity to showcase the success of your Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) or your SHIP-funded housing programs. We encourage you to highlight innovative strategies, impactful projects, and success stories that have made a difference in your community.

Award Categories:

AHAC Award

Recognizing outstanding contributions by an AHAC by sharing:

1. A housing incentive strategy that has positively impacted affordable housing, including any AHAC recommendation successfully adopted and implemented.
2. Innovations in AHAC meeting schedules or incentive strategy reports.
3. Effective methods for recruiting and retaining committee members.

SHIP Rehabilitation, Purchase Assistance, and New Construction Awards

Highlight achievements in any of the following areas:

1. The impact of SHIP-funded rehabilitation, purchase assistance, or new construction on local families.
2. Successful strategies for recruiting and retaining rehabilitation contractors.
3. How your program has helped households overcome barriers to homeownership.

• Format: Submit a video (up to 4 minutes) showcasing your success.

• Requirements: 

1. The project or initiative must include SHIP funding (indicate if SHIP was leveraged with other sources).
2. You may nominate your own SHIP office—please include your local government’s name, main contact, phone number, and email.
