The Florida Housing Coalition is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the SHIP Awards to be presented at the 37th Annual Statewide Affordable Housing Conference (August 26-28, 2024) at the Rosen Center in Orlando, Florida.

SHIP Award Categories

AHAC Award

Highlight the work of your Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. Share with us any one of the following types of success:

1. Highlight a housing incentive strategy has made an impact on affordable housing. Specifically, identify an AHAC recommendation that was adopted by your city or county commission and is being successfully implemented.
2. What innovations have you brought to the AHAC meeting schedule and incentive strategies report?
3. What successful methods have you used to recruit and retain committee members?

SHIP Rehabilitation, Purchase Assistance, and New Construction Awards

Share with us any one of the following types of success:

1. Has your rehabilitation, purchase assistance or new construction work impacted the lives of local families and citizens?
2. Has your approach to recruiting and retaining rehab contractors produced good outcomes?
3. Have you helped households to overcome substantial obstacles to homeownership

Submission Instructions

Please submitted nominations no later than May 25 by 5 pm to Tamara West at west@flhousing.org. Submit a video or photos of your success.

Each nomination must include SHIP funding. If applicable, identify when SHIP assistance is leveraged with other sources. You may nominate your own SHIP office. Include the local government’s name, main contact name, phone number, and email address.

There is no limit on the number of submissions that will be accepted from any one jurisdiction. By making a submission, you understand that the Florida Housing Coalition may use your materials for promotional purposes.
