Program Overview
The CLT Institute’s Basic Individual Shared Equity & CLT Training Cohort (BIT) is a new approach to enhancing the knowledge of participants which delivers an eight-week virtual program that covers the foundational principles of shared equity and the Community Land Trust (CLT) model. Designed to accommodate professionals from all sectors, this program incorporates a blend of self guided learning, instruction from experienced professionals, peer learning, and practical applications to equip participants with the skills they need to succeed.
Upon completing the BIT program, participants can proceed to the Technical Assistance & Incubation Cohort, which provides up to 90 days of hands-on guidance for establishing or improving CLT operations. The incubation phase offers peer learning, expert assistance and organizational support andensures aspiring and existing CLTs establish an effective and efficient operation that,follows industry best practices to obtain the Florida CLT Institute Organizational Certification. Certification Tracks
- Certified Individual: Individual participants who complete the Basic Individual Training receive certification as a Florida CLT Institute - Certified Individual.
- Organizational Certification: Organizations that successfully complete both the BIT program (represented by at least the Executive Director or Senior Staff and Board Chair or Designee) and the Technical Assistance & Incubation will have the opportunity to obtain the Florida CLT Institute Organizational Certification, demonstrating their ability to meet the lending requirements of financial institutions partnering with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.
