As Florida’s population increases, building housing that is both resilient and energy efficient is imperative to the permanent affordability of housing and our state’s continued economic growth. Incorporating resiliency and energy efficiency into housing reduces risks, and lowers operating and maintenance costs to help households sustain their housing long-term, even through natural disasters and other emergencies.
Our team of experts and network of partners can help your community recover from or prepare for disasters and other climate impacts by incorporating best practices in resilience and energy efficiency into your housing programs. Our team can also help you use data to identify needs and gaps in programs to effectively and equitably target resources.
Navigating the terrain of expertise:
- Risk Analysis: A methodical examination that identifies vulnerabilities to a community’s housing, with a focus on its assisted housing stock, to inform disaster preparedness and investments in resiliency and energy efficiency.
- Intermediate Recovery: Addressing housing needs between the immediate response to a disaster and the availability of federal recovery funding is critical to the security of housing for lower income households. We will help your community plan for and implement programs to repair and maintain the housing of lower-income households following a disaster.
- Program Administration Support: Our Program Administration Support ensures that every aspect of a recovery plan or resilience strategy is implemented with precision and efficiency.
- Land Acquisition Plans: Building in the right location is key to reducing risk. our Land Acquisition Plans strategically position communities to rebound, ensuring a resilient future even in the face of unforeseen challenges.
