The Florida Housing Coalition (the Coalition) through its Nonprofit Capacity Building Institute (the NCB Institute) is excited to continue our In the Lab series examining the practical application of the training covered in the Affordable Housing Development Process series.
In our Part I session, we recapped the critical elements and considerations to be a successful nonprofit affordable housing developer. Things like getting and using the right data upfront to make sound decisions, building strong and capable boards and staff, choosing high quality development team members, retaining competent and experienced legal support for real estate transactions, financing considerations, etc. If you missed the Part I session you may access the recording here. This upcoming Part II session brings back two of our favorite housing experts Priscilla Howard, CEO of the Community Solutions Group, and Daniel Rosemond, Executive Director of the East to West Development Corporation. We will dive deeper into the aspects of putting together your financial packages using a group exercise to prepare a solid development plan for submission to funding agencies.
