Our topic is “Do Hurricanes Contribute to Gentrification and Loss of Affordable Housing?” Our presenter, Matt Varkony, is a PhD student at the University of Miami’s School of Environmental & Resource Economics. He will discuss his research on hurricane impacts on the affordability of housing based on his analysis of Hurricane Andrew and more recent disasters.
