Addressing Manufactured Housing Legislation in Your LHAP

June 23 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Addressing Manufactured Housing Legislation in Your LHAP

Session Description

The Florida Legislature has passed SB 594, which:

  • Requires every LHAP to include a strategy to address Manufactured housing (mobile homes)
  • The new strategy must include:
  1. Relocation assistance for owners/tenants who have been evicted due to a closure of a mobile home park
  2. Lot rent assistance to owners of manufactured housing/mobile homes not to exceed six months
  3.  Rehabilitation/emergency repairs
  • Repeals the SHIP 20 percent cap on manufactured housing

Presenters will discuss options for providing new assistance and supply data on where mobile parks have closed. The training will also address HB 399 which requires local governments to allow “offsite-constructed residential dwellings” (modular & manufactured homes treated as real property) in any zoning district where single family detached homes are allowed, effective January 1, 2027.  This webinar is designed for local government SHIP and planning department staff, their community partners, and Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) members.
