WEBINAR – The Rehabilitation/Emergency Repair Process Part 2

This is the final session of a two-part webinar series that introduces the rehabilitation process. The presenters will address weaknesses in rehabilitation programs and best practices to improve your program. The webinar will focus on contractor selection and removal, scope of work, the bidding process, contract terms and award, inspections, and payments, guarantees and warranties, and long-term compliance and monitoring. SHIP staff must work with homeowners, contractors, building inspectors, local officials, and funders. Presenters will help in understanding each of these groups and learning to work with them to avoid some of the problems that are commonly encountered in rehabilitation programs. Learn about change orders, finding qualified contractors, the importance of written agreements, recordkeeping, compliance, monitoring, and program pitfalls.
