SUMMARY:YIGBY 101- Navigating Policy\, Process\, and Partnership for Faith-Based Housing
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a deep dive into Florida’s two Yes-in-God’s-Backyard (YIGBY) laws—one a state mandate\, the other a local option. These policies unlock qualifying land owned by religious institutions for affordable housing\, regardless of zoning. In this session\, you’ll learn about how the two laws work\, with a focus on land use\, zoning\, pre-development\, how YIGBY can be used to support persons in the greatest need of housing options\, and how local housing ecosystems can activate YIGBY. Whether you’re a local government staffer\, housing advocate\, faith-based leader\, or builder\, this webinar will equip you with practical tools and policy guidance to help bring affordable housing to your community.
