SUMMARY:WEBINAR- Post-Disaster Emergency Housing
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is focused on planning for post disaster emergency housing since hurricane season is not the time to start plans. Once a hurricane has damaged and destroyed homes\, there may be hundreds of homes needed for survivors for temporary housing and for long term recovery.   Pre-covery is the concept of preparing for disaster by taking steps to qualify contractors\, order building supplies\, and stockpile housing components that can be accessed amidst post disaster supply chain disruptions.  Presenters will explore how local governments and housing providers can deploy minimum sized “emergency housing cores” comprised of just a kitchen\, bathroom and bedroom.  They provide immediate shelter that can be later expanded to permanent housing solutions.  Learn about innovative methods and materials including advance component construction and modular housing to start the rebuilding and recovery process sooner rather than later.  \nPresenters: Michael Chaney and Gladys Cook \nREGISTER HERE
