SUMMARY:WEBINAR - Case Management Curriculum: Webinar 4 - Introduction to Working with Special Populations
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nCase management has many roles and definitions throughout social service organizations. In this series\, we look at the role of case management when working with households experiencing homelessness. Providing case management to households experiencing homelessness can be challenging given the varied and unique nature of each household. While other social service organizations may work with a specific population – i.e. persons with intellectual\, cognitive\, or developmental disabilities; persons with serious mental illness; persons with co-occurring diagnoses – homeless service providers work with all special populations. Case managers are expected to be knowledgeable and well-versed about a range of resources. This webinar will provide an overview of the generalist practice and housing focus of case management as a homeless service provider. Examples of resources will be provided that are available in most communities.
