The Florida Housing Coalition has released a new guidebook for local governments, housing advocates, and industry groups on how to use Coronavirus State Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) from the American Rescue Plan to make significant investments in affordable housing. This program provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity for local governments to address the affordable housing crisis. These funds can be used for affordable housing development, supportive housing services, down payment assistance, nonprofit aid, and other eligible activities. Florida Housing Coalition to Give Award to Local Government Dedicating Highest Percentage of ARPA Funds for Affordable Housing Development
At our upcoming 2022 Home Matters Conference happening August 29-31 in Orlando, the Florida Housing Coalition will present a Housing Champion Award to the local government that is dedicating the highest percentage of Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) towards affordable housing. All 67 counties and 77 cities in Florida received direct funding through the American Rescue Plan’s Coronavirus State & Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) program. Another 335 towns and cities in Florida may receive these funds through the Florida Division of Emergency Management. This program provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity to address the affordable housing crisis. This webinar will discuss how local governments can use their SLFRF funds towards affordable housing activities and showcase examples from across the state. Whether you are a housing advocate, a nonprofit affordable housing developer, or local government housing staff, this webinar will provide considerations to help you dedicate SLFRF dollars.
